This is my Story

I  joined the U.S. Army in 1988 right out of high school as an Airborne Infantry Paratrooper (82nd Airborne). My military career provided me the opportunity to travel to 5 continents. By operating in the swamps, jungles, forests, deserts and mountains,  I gained an appreciation for the beauty of nature and life. I lived for 13 months in the African and Middle Eastern deserts including my action in the 1st Gulf War in 1991.

My day job at the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office allows me the opportunity to do documentary photography, staff photos, and special projects (nothing to do with criminal cases). Off duty I work with my wife and other professional photographers shooting weddings as well as creating my own style of photographic art as seen on this website.  I currently live near the beach in Venice, Florida with my wife Gina and children Madison & Chase.

My work has been published in books, text books, magazines, advertisements, corporate marketing materials and newspapers. I am entirely self taught and don't like rules. I don't do boring, that can be found everywhere. I enjoy working on projects that are out of the ordinary and am always looking for a new challenge. I maintain an online photo gallery where you may purchase prints from events that I have done. www.brett.photoreflect.com
